SHARED TOURIST TRANSPORTATION 3 DAYS 2 NIGHTS AREQUIPA-COLCA-PUNO
First Day: AREQUIPA- CHIVAY-YANQUE
Second Day: KILLAWASI-TOUR CRUZ DEL CONDOR-KILLAWASI
Last Day: YANQUE - PUNO
First day: AREQUIPA- CHIVAY-YANQUE (trekking and hot springs)
You will be picked-up from your hotel at Arequipa between 7:30 and 8:15am and begin the trip northward. First, you will be astonished by the sights of various volcanoes like: Misty, Chachani and Pichu Pichu.
Then we’ll continue through the National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca (Pampas Cañahuas), where we’ll make small stops to see the beautiful vicuñas in their natural habitat. Afterwards, we’ll move along Pataguas, half-way to Colca, we’ll make a stop to use the restrooms and drink some coca tea. After 15 min we’ll continue into Vizcachani and the wetlands of Toccra, where you’ll see: alpacas, llamas and different varieties of wild birds. The next place we’ll visit will be Patampampa, the highest point of the trip with 4900 m.a.s.l.
From here one is able to see the Chila Mountains, as well as the volcanoes: Ampato, Sabancaya, Hualca Hualca and Mismi (considered to be the origin of the Amazon River). From this point on we’ll begin to descend into the Colca’s National Park, arriving at our hotel KILLAWASI LODGE approximate 1:45 pm.
In the afternoon you can rest and relax in your private balcony or terrace and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Moreover, you could visit the hot springs located only 20 minutes away (by foot) from the hotel, or if you prefer, you can enjoy a small walk through Yanque. During this walk you will visit Yanque’s plaza, its colonial church, as well as its museum where, among other thing, you will see a replica of the Juanita mummy and an exhibition of all the colonial churches in Colca.
Second day: KILLAWASI-TOUR CRUZ DEL CONDOR-KILLAWASI
Optional: (Horseback or bike ride)
At 6:00 am a tasty breakfast will be served in the hotel’s restaurant and then we’ll leave for the viewpoint “Cruz Del Cóndor” where we’ll stay for about an hour and a half. In this beautiful place one can feel the magnitude of the Colca Canyon by seeing it in all its deepness and immensity. Moreover, you’ll be able to see the flight of the condor at a very close range.
During the return we’ll pass through the towns of Pinchollo, Maca and Achoma. There, we’ll see archaeological remains, Pre-Inca agricultural terraces and astonishing panoramic views of the canyon.
You’ll have this afternoon clear to relax and enjoy the hotel, or if you like we can organize for you (with an additional cost) a guided horseback or bike ride. In both cases you’ll visit different points of interest around the town of Yanque.
In the case of the horseback ride there’s no need to have experience with this animal. The horses are trained and used to the routes. Also, you will always count with the support of a guide. However, in the case of the bike ride, you need to be in very good shape and to have performed this activity before.
At the end of your chosen activity, you can rest on the hammocks or in your private balcony or terrace. Then, if you like, you can enjoy a refreshing lunch in our restaurant.
Last day 3: YANQUE –CHIVAY- PUNO
In the morning you can rest and relax in your private balcony or terrace and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Moreover, you can enjoy a small walk through Yanque. During this walk you will visit Yanque’s plaza, its colonial church, as well as its museum where, among other things, you will see a replica of the Juanita mummy and an exhibition of all the colonial churches in Colca.
Approximately at 11:30 am, we will take you to Chivay where you will have time to enjoy a tasty lunch and visit the main plaza.
After lunch we will departure to PUNO in a guided tourist transportation. In the way to Puno we will be passing through the volcanoes’ viewpoint (Patapampa), stop in “Pampa Cannahuas” for coca tea and to use the restrooms. Then, we’ll continue to “Lagunillas” where you will observe wild birds and beautiful lakes.
Approximately at 7:00 pm, we will arrive to Puno where we will drop you at your hotel (downtown).
